What is our history?
The Municipality Enterprise (ME) “Social enterprise for people with disabilities”- Plovdiv is created in 2018 during the project for creating new social enterprise in the local Municipality for the Operative Program “Development of Human Resources” 2014-2020. After completing the project with decision of the Municipality Council – Plovdiv, the Social Enterprise continued to function as a ME. In 2020 the enterprise is written in the Registry for social enterprises of the Republic of Bulgaria.
What are our activities?
The Municipality Enterprise “Social enterprise for people with disabilities”- Plovdiv creates handmade souvenirs and products from textile, glass and ceramics. There are three studios situated within the enterprise:
Blown glass

The glassblowing studio is focused on creating handmade and exquisitely decorated Christmas tree ornaments.
Paintings
Paintings
In the art decoration studio, our artists paints Christmas tree ornaments and beautiful paintings.
Textile
Textile
In the textile studio, bedding sets, bedspreads, clothes, aprons, bags, flags, various products according to the customer’s design and many others.
In the textile studio are created products such as bedding and sheets, cloths and table covers, as well as hats, bags, kitchen aprons, flags and of course the traditional Martenitza.
In the glass-blowing studio our colleagues create handmade Christmas ornaments. In the studio works and teaches the last master of the art of glass-blowing, he passes on his craft to the people in the social enterprise.
The ceramic studio creates different souvenirs and jewelry, also paints by hand the glass ornaments from the other studio.
What is our goal?
The goal of the Social Enterprise is to assist the life of the people with disabilities, in which way affects their integration into society as well as their quality of life. For the employees with disability in the enterprise we created conditions of successful realization in the work force also their creative potential, in this way they help the economy of the city and the country.

OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS
We, the ME “Social enterprise for people with disabilities”- Plovdiv, are proud and thankful to be given the following awards:
First place in the annually national award for social innovation in support of the social economy 2019 in the category: Social innovations, connected to employment.
Certificate for innovative product 2019 in the European fair for the enterprises and cooperations from the social and solidarity economy from the European forum for social entrepreneurship.
Second place in the annual national award for social innovation in support of the social economy 2020 in category: Social innovation, connected to the social inclusion.
Award from the National Alliance for Social Responsibility for building a successful model for Social Enterprise.
First place in Competition for good practices for 2021 of The Institute of public Administration for practices implemented in the social entrepreneurship.
Second place in the national award for Social Innovations in Support of the Social Economy 2022 in category Social innovations related to social products and services
